“Behavior concerns are the #1 reason children are referred to a mental health provider, and yet, not enough healthcare providers work within this space. Families deserve better”
- Emily L. Robertson, PhD, Founder & Director, Center for Child Behavior
Dedicated to supporting children and parents to overcome behavioral challenges
Families with children with behavior problems often seek help from a variety of providers and are left drained, confused about various diagnoses which may be inaccurate, and ultimately are desperate for help that actually works. Unfortunately, we’ve seen it over and over again.
The Center for Child Behavior was founded to contribute to solving this critical problem in our healthcare system: Child behavior problems are one of the most common reasons a child is referred to a mental health professional and yet, there are an insufficient number of healthcare providers with specialized training and expertise on these behavioral health challenges and their treatment. This leads families down a long, time consuming, often expensive road of navigating the healthcare system.
The good news is that extensive behavioral and psychological research shows what helps many families with these concerns.
This is where we come in.
The Center for Child Behavior provides high quality, research supported services to caregivers for child behavior problems and related concerns. Unlike most providers, we do not try to treat everything under the sun. Instead, we focus on what we are experts in. Pure and simple.
We have years of training with international experts in parenting and family conflict, behavior problems, tantrums, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, academic challenges, trauma, and related concerns. We offer assessments/testing, individual therapy, and group therapy. We also serve as a training hub for healthcare professionals such as pediatricians, psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, and educators to help increase the expertise of providers in our community. We love working with other healthcare professionals and improving the healthcare and education system for families like you.
